Care Closets Donation

The Junior League of Monroe's Care Closets is a community-based initiative established to maintain hygiene closets in 11 (eleven) local elementary and middle schools. The JLM Care Closets are a FREE resource where we stock feminine hygiene products, along with other toiletry items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and other essentials for students in need to discreetly access. Please donate any amount to allow us to restock these hygiene closets. It is the JLM's desire that the students in these Ouachita Parish schools be able to attend school knowing that their basic hygiene needs are met, allowing them to focus on their education.

Uniform Voucher Program

As a part of The Junior League of Monroe’s commitment to helping children and families in need, we are proud to offer the Uniform Voucher Program. This program helps to make sure students within Ouachita Parish and Monroe City School Systems will have the basic necessities they need to learn and grow. Administrators and teachers from the area schools may apply to receive items for students such as uniform shirts, uniform shorts/pants, socks, undergarments, and shoes for their students in need. This program is exclusively funded by Active, Provisional, and Sustaining Members of the Junior League of Monroe. You have helped so many students succeed already, and we need your help to be able to ensure as many students as possible can go to school dressed in the uniforms they need to feel confident and ready to learn!

LBDI - Little Black Dress Initiative

The Junior League of Monroe (JLM) will hold its 4th annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI), which is an awareness and fundraising campaign about the effects of domestic violence in our community. LBDI is a week-long endeavor from October 3-7, 2022 where participants wear one black dress (or outfit) for five (5) consecutive days, illustrating the lack of resources that victims who have fled domestic violence situations face (sometimes with only the clothes on their backs) as well as their limited access to opportunities, choices, and other resources. The campaign sparks conversations about domestic violence and the ways to prevent it and collects monetary donations as well as donations of new or gently used professional clothing and accessories for the Junior League of Monroe's W.E. C.A.R.E. program which will take place on October 22, 2022. Every woman deserves to feel confident and empowered, and the Junior League of Monroe’s Little Black Dress Initiative draws attention to how difficult that can be when living without the resources to leave a domestic violence situation. You can support the Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) and the JLM's W.E. C.A.R.E program by making a monetary donation.
